Construction Career Days: How Far We’ve Come

Since joining the nationwide effort in 2003, the Massachusetts Construction Career Days event has played host to 13,000 high school students from across the state. We are pleased to report that this two-day event has grown to include approximately 45 exhibitors and 35 pieces of heavy equipment.

The Massachusetts Construction Career Days Committee is made up public and private sector agencies and companies that dedicate money and resources to make this event a success.  The Committee continues to be impressed with the response and support they receive from the construction industry, schools, and contracting community. You will be pleased to know that all our hard work and effort is beginning to show results. We now know that, as a result of attending one of our events, some students are actively pursuing careers in the construction industry.

Mary Stokes is just one example. After attending one of the very first CCD events, Mary began working as a welder in training. Mary has now set her sights on obtaining her certification as an underwater welding specialist. We wish Mary, and everyone else who has chosen to pursue a construction career, success in their endeavors.

As we move forward let us keep Mary and the others like her forefront in our minds.
Construction Career Days sponsors, exhibitors and participants are making a difference!
