Learn some best practices for the planning, design and construction of Megaprojects and the lessons learned from past problems. Our presenters will address:
-- how to mitigate and improve the management of risk of professional liability exposure for Consulting Engineers involved in Megaprojects and other work
-- why the public perception of projects is crucial - and how to manage that process
 
Plus, preview Megaprojects: Challenges and Recommended Practices, a new book to be published by ACEC in the fall of 2009.  Proceeds from the publication of Megaprojects will be donated entirely to ACEC.
  • David Hatem is a Founding Partner of the Boston-based law firm, Donovan Hatem LLP.  A nationally recognized for his expertise in law related to the design and construction industry, David is the editor and a chapter author of Megaprojects.
 
  • Tony Lancellotti served as the Deputy Program Manager on the Central Artery Tunnel project from 1994 to 2004 for Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff.  He will present Megaproject Management tips.
 
  • Tom Palmer covered major Massachusetts real estate development projects, the Central Artery/Tunnel Project, and other megaprojects when he worked as a reporter and editor for theThe Boston Globe.  Now an independent communications consultant, Tom still covers development-related events in Boston and the region on his on-line journal.
