Massachusetts Construction Career Days
Organizational Structure
Leadership for the Massachusetts Construction Career Days (MassCCD) program is provided by a Steering Committee. Four (4) working Subcommittees have been established to undertake the many planning activities required for each of the MassCCD annual events. An Event Coordinator supports the Steering Committee and Subcommittees. The role and structure of the Steering Committee, Event Coordinator, and four Subcommittees is briefly described below.
MassCCD Steering Committee
The Steering Committee provides overall leadership and direction for the MassCCD program. Key responsibilities of the Steering Committee include: determining the location of the annual event(s), selecting event dates, and confirming participation by the “Principal Sponsor” organizations (see below).
The Committee is comprised of one representative from each of the Principal Sponsor organizations. The following individuals currently serve on the MassCCD Steering Committee:

MassCCD Event Coordinator
The Massachusetts Technical Assistance Program (MTAP), located at the University of Massachusetts Transportation Center (UMTC), is under contract to assist the Steering Committee and provide overall coordination of the MassCCD program activities. As the Event Coordinator, MTAP works through the EOT Director of Training to provide direct support to the Steering Committee and each of the Subcommittees in planning and preparing for the MassCCD events. The Event Coordinator representatives are:

MassCCD Subcommittees
Four (4) Subcommittees have been established to effectively facilitate planning and coordination of activities in preparation of each MassCCD event. The primary responsibilities of the Subcommittees are briefly outlined below:
Budget & Finance Subcommittee
- Prepares Budget for each event.
- Ensures annual funding mechanisms are in place.
- Manages CIM-MassCCD account.
- Reviews and approves all expenditures.
Education Subcommittee
- Works through MA DOE to select participating schools for each event.
- Develops and implements plan of activities to prepare participating schools.
- Identifies key budget items and procures related services (e.g. bussing).
Facilities & Exhibitors Subcommittee
- Procures event facility selected by Steering Committee.
- Prepares Exhibitor registration materials and procedures.
- Develops and implements plan for event site layout and exhibitor locations.
- Identifies key facilities budget items (e.g. safety gear, lunches, porta-johns).
- Coordinates all equipment and services for event facility.
Marketing & Public Relations Subcommittee
- Maintains MassCCD website.
- Develops and implements event display wall.
- Investigates additional funding sources.
- Prepares post event thank-you and pre-event reminders for vendors.
- Prepares plan and implements activities for event media coverage.
