GLX Program Manager, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
Please join the BSCES/MOLES Virtual Tour of the MBTA’s GLX Project featuring MBTA General Manager, Steve Poftak, and MBTA GLX Program Manager, John Dalton. John will be in attendance to provide an update and answer questions regarding this long-awaited expansion of mass transit into Somerville and Medford. BSCES has partnered with The Moles, American Society of Civil Engineers, the Underground Construction Association, the Deep Foundation Institute, the Beavers, the MBTA, and the GLX Project Team to create a virtual tour of the GLX Project.
The purpose of this partnership and tour is to provide increased student awareness of the underground construction industry and give students insight into the practical, real world experiences of the heavy construction industry. Our goal is to encourage students to consider the possibility of working on similar heavy construction projects to help build or rebuild America’s infrastructure. .
