The goal of this competition is to design, construct and submit a structure with the specified materials and design for judging in the categories of most efficient and most aesthetic bridge design. We welcome all students in grades 12 and below to participate in the competition and practice their bridge building skills. Learn more
The Future City Competition is a project‐based learning experience where student teams, led by an educator and volunteer mentor, spend four months developing a virtual city (using SimCity), researching and designing a solution to a city wide issue (this year’s challenge—Public Spaces—asks students to include in their future city a distributed network of innovative, multi-use public spaces that serves the city’s diverse population), and building a scale model of their city using recycled material.
